Works with any PIMS

OpenVet for practices on Cornerstone

Cornerstone is a practice management system for large, high-volume hospitals: scheduling, invoicing, diagnostics, and the local chart. That is the business of one practice. The whole workflow of an animal's health is bigger than any single hospital's four walls, and it is not what a PIMS was built to hold. OpenVet is the layer that holds it — the medical operating system that works with Cornerstone and reasons across the whole animal.

Two layers, one animal

Your PIMS runs the practice. OpenVet runs the medicine — and follows the animal past your front door.

What each layer is for

Cornerstone is built for

Running a busy, established hospital: high-volume scheduling, invoicing, inventory, and a clean local record for the visits that happen inside your walls.

Only OpenVet is built for

The universal medical record for the animal itself — the end-to-end knowledge of its whole life, across clinics and species, plus cited clinical reasoning a practice management system was never designed to do.

What a PIMS was never built to do

A PIMS keeps a large practice's operations and local record in order. It was never meant to reason through a clinical question at the point of care, and it was never meant to follow the animal past your own front door.

When the same patient turns up at an emergency hospital across town, none of that history travels with it. OpenVet is built for exactly that gap: the reasoning your PIMS does not do, and the continuity it cannot provide.

A system of record for the animal, not just the practice

OpenVet reasons across the whole life of the animal and answers any clinical question with cited, traceable sources you can check. It is the clinical operating system that sits above whatever software runs your business.

It works with Cornerstone, and with any PIMS you run. There is no rip-and-replace, and nothing you have to give up to start.

Answers sourced, not invented

Doses and thresholds are drawn directly from authoritative references, including the FDA, USDA, and published veterinary sources, and run through species-specific safety checks. They are never invented by the model, and every answer shows its sources.

OpenVet supports the clinician's judgment; the final clinical decision is always yours.

Questions

Does OpenVet replace Cornerstone?

No. Cornerstone stays your practice's business software and local chart. OpenVet is the clinical operating system on top of it, and it works with any PIMS.

Do we have to integrate or install anything?

Nothing to start: OpenVet is a web app you open beside Cornerstone and use from day one. And we do have integrations — if you want OpenVet connected more deeply to your practice data, talk to our team about what's possible for your setup.

Where do the drug doses come from?

Directly from authoritative references such as the FDA and USDA, with species-specific safety checks, not generated by the AI model. Sources are shown so you can verify.
